The OES diagnostics supported by DGM allows to diagnose the plasma of an electric thruster according to its propellant and to the functioning conditions.
DGMs developed by DEDALOS Ltd support non-perturbing Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) diagnostics of the thruster plasma, through calculation of its main theoretical line intensities. Among the available models we mention here those dedicated to Xe, Ar, Ne, H2, N2, O2, CO2 and I fueling of various thruster types. For example, the Iodine Detailed Global Model (IDGM) used as a tool for characterization and for diagnostics of various power class electric thrusters fed by iodine, contains as main parameters the excited levels from the first, second and third iodine spectra of iodine propellant. The concomitant data have been added in the model in order to evaluate the corresponding line intensities.
Theoretical line intensities calculated for various electric thrusters functioning conditions are to be compared with the corresponding measured intensities acquired for the same functioning conditions, thus obtaining OES diagnostics of the ET plasma.
